Blot the ink stain right away with some tissues. Work from the outside of the stain toward the center to avoid spreading the ink.
Dampen a soft washcloth in warm water, and wring out the excess liquid. Apply one or two drops of mild, liquid dish soap to a portion of the washcloth. Scrub the ballpoint writing gently, working from the outer edges to the middle.
Wipe the area with a damp washcloth to remove any rubbing alcohol residue.
Moisten a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and rub it on the remaining ink stain in a circular motion. Replace the cotton balls as needed, and continue rubbing the stain until it's gone.
