The salt dissolves, the other solids do not. Using the fact that the iron is magnetic, the magnet can be used to separate the iron fillings from the mixture by moving teh magnet around in the container. Keeping the magnet in a plastic bag makes it easy to separate the filings from the magnet when you pull it out.

First iron fillings are separated by using a magnet. magnet attracts iron fillings, thus iron fillings get separated. then dissolve aluminium powder and sugar in water as aluminium is insoluble in water it will become a filtrate. so we can use the process of filtration to separate aluminium from sugar solution now sugar can be obtained by crystallisation. the three processes by which we can separate mixture of aluminium powder, sugar and iron fillings are by using a magnet filtration crystallisation.
