How to separate kerosene from water?

Pour the mixture of kerosene oil andwater in a separating funnel. Let it stand undisturbed for sometime so that separate layers of oil and waterare formed. Open the stopcock of theseparating funnel and pour out the lower layer of water carefully..... so we can seperate it with a seperating funnel..
