In Substitution method you find out the value of any one variable and then substitute that in the equation to get the answer of one variable then subsitute your answer to get the answer of the second variable

Eg -
X+Y =16. (Eq 1)
X-Y = 10. ( Eq 2)

Now , X+Y =16. (By Eq 1)
Thus X= 16-Y (St 1)

X-Y = 10. (By Eq 2)
16 -Y -Y =10. (Subsituting St 1)
-2Y = 10-16
-2Y =-4
Y = 2. (St 2)

X = 16-Y. (By st 1)
X = 16-2. (Substituting St 2)
X= 14

You could also do this by one equation by substituting the value of X in the one equation then solving it to get X and Y

Heya!!!!!!!!

Here is ur answer!!!!!!!!!!!

See to find the value of X and Y
Δ Firstly check out expression having both the variable

✌ Taking X expressed in terms of y
✌ evaluate the value of X in second equation.
✌ Solve the second equation you will get the value of Y.
✌ Now put the value of Y in any equation and find out the soln for X

Here is an example :

X+Y=5........................[1]
=>X=Y-5

X-5Y =-3...........................[2]
Putting the value of X in eq [1]

X-5Y=-3
(Y-5)-5Y=-3
Now ,
-4Y-5=-3
=>-4Y=2=>Y =-1/2

keep the value of y in X
X=Y-5
= -1/2-5
-4. 1/2

Hope it helps you
