(I) Area of shaded region = Area of whole figure - Area of Circle(unshaded region) = 14^2 - (22/7) *7*7 = 196 - 154 = 42

(ii) Area of shaded region = Area of whole figure - Area of inner Circle(area if unshaded region) = (22/7) *4.5*4.5 - (22/7) *2.5*2.5= 63.64-19.64=44

Answer:- The area of the region enclosed by two concentric circles is 176 cm^2

Given :- R=6cm and r=5 cm

To find :- Area of flat circular ring

Step by step solution:-

The area of the region enclosed by two concentric circles is given by:

A=π(R ^2-r^2)

here R=9cm, r=5cm

A= 22/7 ( 9^2-5^2)

A= 22/7 (81−25)

A = 176 cm^2
