formula for r eq in parallel is r1r2/r1+r2

Sarathrocks9876yah: No the formula is 1/r=1/r¹+1/r²....and so on....
akhileshsharma2: my formula is for only if two resistance is given
harshraj18: can you explain with a problem
Sarathrocks9876yah: Yes if four resistors are of 4 ohms and connected in parallel...then 1/r be1/4+1/4+1/4+1/4=1/1therefore r is the reciprocal of 1/1»»1

let the resistance joined in parallel combination be r1,r2,r3
Therefore Equivalent resistance =1/r1+1/r2+1/r3

harshraj18: can you explain with a problem
YaminiRathi: The three resistance of 2 ohm, 4 ohm, 8 ohm are connected in parallel combination. Therefore equivalent resistance(1/R) = 1/2+1/4+1/8 = 7/8 Therefore R= 8/7
