Answer:

500km/hr

Step-by-step explanation:

let the usual speed be x km/hr

new speed of the plane  = (x + 100)km/hr

ATP,

\frac{1500}{x}  \frac{-1500}{x + 100}  = \frac{30}{60}

\frac{(x+100)1500 - 1500(x)}{x(x+100)}  = \frac{1}{2}

(1500x + 150000 - 1500x)  *  2     =  x(x+100) = x^2 + 100x

300000 = x^2 + 100x

x^2 + 100x - 300000 = 0

x^2 + 600x - 500x - 300000 = 0

x(x+600) -500(x +600) = 0

(x-500)(x+600) = 0

so here x  = 500 , -600

as,  (500-500)(500+600) =  0(500-600) = 0

and (-600-500)(-600+600) = (-600-500)(0) = 0

but speed cant be negative(-600) so  500 km/hr is the only answer
