   20 = 22 • 5  

   24 = 23 • 3  

Build a prime factors table

TO DETERMINE

HCF of 16 , 20 and 24

CONCEPT TO BE IMPLEMENTED

HCF :

For the given two or more numbers HCF is the greatest number that divides each of the numbers

EVALUATION

Here the given numbers are 16 , 20 and 24

We now prime factorise the given numbers

16 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 2

20 = 2 × 2 × 5

24 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 3

Hence the required HCF

= 2 × 2

= 4
