length of the wall = AB = 7.96 m
BC = 4.6 m
AC = ?
by applying Pythagoras thereom
AC² = AB ² + BC²
AC² = 62.41 + 21.16
AC = √83.57
AC = 9.14 m
so the length of the ladder is 9.14 m
