first look at the main topic. analyze what you want to write/say. you could start your speech with a famous quote related to the topic. do not keep the starting too simple as it may not attract the attention of people.

first of all , the basic most thing is that u address the audience or the judges..
but let me tell u if u start up with some quotes nd then addressing nd introducing  urself will complement u wid some gud remarks...
as for example ..suppose u have been given a topic importance of education...
so u may start like ... Education is the most powerful word we can use to change the world...respected judges nd my dear frnds myself ....(name) heartfully welcomes to one and all present here to listen my views on the topic ....importance of education....
