How to use adverb in sentences

An adverb is a word that modifies (describes) a verb (he sings loudly), an adjective (very tall), another adverb (ended too quickly), or even a whole sentence (Fortunately, I had brought an umbrella). Adverbs often end in -ly, but some (such as fast) look exactly the same as their adjective counterparts.

When using an adverb with a verb, the adverb often goes before the verb, though not always. (can go after the verb also)

For instance, say you have the following sentence: "She ran to the store." Identify the verb. In this case, the verb is "ran."

Add an adverb before "ran" to describe or modify it: "She quickly ran to the store."

Some examples of adverbs in sentences are:-

1. He was strangely quiet yesterday.

2. James coughed loudly to attract her attention.

3. He's almost always late.

This is how adverbs are commonly used.

However, there are different types of adverbs; please refer to the attachment to have a clearer image.
