Ofcourse I help my mom in the kitchen! We all do. The real question should be if how many of us don't help our moms in the kitchen!
No matter how lazy and lethargic a person is, anyone who'd find his/her mom continously doing hectic tasks at home would certainly run to help her in the kitchen or elsewhere, just to give her some rest. She being the most hard working person in the family deserves a day off too, and it’s definitely our responsibility to let her relax for a while.
Especially when your parents get old. It pains me to the core when I find my aged mom still doing all the household chores. I'd ask her each time to leave everything to me, but she wouldn't let me. She asks me to study for now and would always say “once you'll start earning, I won't touch a single thing and will only rest”
No matter how much she declines to let me work instead of her, I always try to complete her tasks beforehand, so she has less burden. Studies are somehow affected a little, but that doesn't matter at all. And I hope I have a decent job soon and that I'm able to earn enough to afford a servant at home who'd do all the work. So she can have all the rest she's supposed to have. Otherwise I'll do it all myself.
Moms are a gift and we don't forget to acknowledge this each day. I wish I become a good mom to my children too. Cheers to motherhood!
