there re two types of letter one is informal and other is formal it depends on you which type of letter you want to write. I can tell you the format of both types.
format of informal letter:-

self address
name of the city from where the sender is writting the letter

date

salutation( dear friend ,dear Papa)
___________________________body of the letter_____________________________________________

subscription (yours faithfully, yours lovingly)
your name

format of formal letter:-

sender's address
name of the city from where the sender is writting letter

date

receiver's address
name of the city where receiver lives

salutation

subject:-
_________________________body of the letter____________________________________________________

subscription
your name and signature
