The Banyan tree is one of my favorite trees…..
The banayan covers a large span of area with its massive branches and also aids to various species….
Because the branches are massive and far from trunk , circulation of water is difficult .This is where adaptation is seen at its best , the tree uses Aerial roots from each branches , these roots serve the same purpose as normal roots .
As there are many branches covering a wide span of area many aerial roots are formed which descend down from the branch and grow thick in size which gives us an illusion that there are many trees ……
As I reside in Bangalore there are many trees , the most famous of all is the “Dodda Aalada Mara” which translates to “Big Banyan tree
