How was a rift caused between alagu and jumman?

Due to the ill-treatment received by her nephew, Jumman's aunt was forced to take the matter to Panchayat. At the Panchayat, Jumman saw a majority of the people who were against him but was overjoyed when his aunt chose his best friend, Alagu, as the head Panch. Alagu, however, turned the tables around when he turned the case of Jumman against him. As the people at the Panchayat praised the judgement of Alagu, Jumman thought that his friend must taking some revenge and this act of Alagu caused a rift between them.
