"Guru Amardas ji was the third Guru among all the ten Gurus and he founded the Goindwal where he lived at this place for 33 years.
This place has different from all the other Sikh religious places which was founded by other Sikh Gurus. Goindwal is now known as Goindwal Sahib.
Guru Amardas ji established this place as a new centre for preaching sikhisms and in the Goindwal Guru Amardas ji met next Guru Ram Das Ji.
Today, the Goindwal Baoli is the prime visiting destination and it is also known for serving largest number of people in community kitchens."
