I) louis xvi supported the American Independence war which required a lot of money.
ii) Due to which he had to take immense amounts loans from other countries.
iii) And after the independence war he had to pay off his loans and he also wanted a comfortable life.
iv) He didn't had sufficient amount of money to pay the loans so he increased the taxes from 90% to 95%. And made the middle class pay for it.
v) Due to increased population the price of the breads increased and people were now provoked and had no choice but to revolt against the unfair rule.
