✨Slave trade had begun in France in about 17th century .
✨Boudreaux and Nantes were the main port cities from where the slaves were bought and sold .
✨The slave trade that flourished had resulted in the economic prosperity of the port cities of Nantes and Bordeaux.
✔Steps to ban slave trade ;
✨The first step was taken by the National assembly of France. It held regular debates and discussions as to how to stop this inhuman practise .
✨But they were not in favour of passing any act or law for this practise because it was the main source of income for the large businessman and they didn't want to upset or loose the support of the businessman .
✨It was in the year 1794 that the CONVENTION in France passed a law to abolish slavery . But when Napoleon Bonaparte became the emperor ,he reintroduced slavery .
⭐⭐The final abolition of slavery was in the year 1848.
