Agriculture was useful for early humans because they had to hunt for food every day. Sometimes, they hunted something poisonous to eat which may harm or even cause death.

It was useful as they could settle down and grow there own food without being able to scan the whole forest. They could grow different types of crops. And as fertilizers were not invented then, the soil was extremely fertile.
