The discovery of metals like bronze, copper and tin were helpful to the early men in starting a new age called the bronze age. It further made nicer weapons and greater farming equipments than those of stone age.

The first metal able to be worked by humans was copper. Copper exists in workable form naturally, and need not be “smelted” as does iron.
It is quite soft, but it can be “work hardened” by pounding. Early cultures made decorations, ornaments, and small tools and weapons like arrow-points, daggers, and the like
