a) Identity of a nation symbolises in figure or image:
The image of Bharat Mata was created by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay who is also associated with writing of our national song "Vande Mataram" which was widely sund during the Swadeshi movement in Bengal. The Bharat Mata image was painted by Abaindranath Tagore and it was depicted as a ascetic figure, calm, composed, divine and spiritual.

d) Reinterpretation of history:
British saw Indians as backward and primitive incapable of governing them. Therefore our nationalists leaders began looking into past to discover India's achievements in the field of art and architecture, science, Maths, culture, etc.
