peninsular plateau formed due to breaking and drifting of gondwana land making it part of oldest landmass .

Feautres of peninsular plateau are :-

  1. it is diveded into two parts - central highland and deccan plateau
  2. river draining this region are chambal , sind , betwa and the ken
  3. it is black soil area called deccan trao
  4. aravali hills lie on western and northwestern margin of it
  5. they extend from gujrat to delhi in southwest - notheast direction
