Islands which are formed inside a river are referred as Riverine Islands .This happens due to the interconnection of two rivers enclosing a land area between them . When the river level is high sand or other sediments may build up a portion of the river due to current. During the dry season, these can be exposed above the surface.  The water level gets reduced due to erosion of the river bed or bank, exposing a rock or landmass near the surface.

Answer:

Explanation:

The rivers common from the northern mountains carry alluvium with them and do the depositional work. In the lower course due to gentle slope the velocity of the river decreases which results in the formation of riverine islands.
