In the short story 'The Adventures of Toto' by Ruskin Bond, Toto was a very naughty monkey who was always up to some mischief. Toto was a nuisance in the house as he troubled all the family members as well as the domestic animals and other pets. He destroyed everything that he could lay his hands on - be it clothes, food, utensils or home furnishings and proved to be a very costly pet. He almost boiled himself alive while taking his bath in a kettle. He was very difficult to handle and control.
