Traveling to distant lands was important part of life of the people in early days due to the following :
⚫ In early days, people need resources and things to make their goods, crafts and to develop their own lands. So, they travel different lands to collect valuable resources and things.
⚫ In early days, trade was an important part of peoples life. They used to sell their goods to different lands to earn more profit.
⚫ In early days and even now, some people travel to distant lands for adventure and also to learn the traditions and cultures of other lands.
⚫ In early days, people used to travel distant lands to teach, share knowledge and ideas for living a better life.
⚫ In early days, some peoples used to travel distant lands to rule and govern other lands. These peoples' were mainly kings. Also the British came to India to rule and govern here.

all people change the places during war and other harsh thing they want to save there childrens and there ownlife people also travel a long distance some people get killed because of war or other harsh thing people want save their life and goes to other place by walking or some vehicles.
You can see in krishna story people transfer to other place because of the krishna's uncle's monsters which want to destroy the village krishna give the clue to go in the other if they want to save their life.
