First of all uniform acceleration means you need to have constant direction as well.
A body in circular motion have constant magnitude of acceleration but as accn is a vector quantity you cannot say a body is having constant acceleration....
Uniform circular motion is not applicable in this case as acceleration is not uniform as direction of the acceleration is continuously changing but its magnitude is constant and the velocity is uniform (constant)...

When Velocity is constant, the acceleration is not always constant.
Eg. A moving car in a circular path.
Acceleration is the time rate of change of velocity, not speed.
