If in question the statement shows
"find the minimum time or least distance........furtger conditions given" that means you have been asked for LCM and in other cases
you have to be given the problem on HCF
like (find minimum time the hour hand and minute hand coincide)
(find minimum time the bell will rang simultaneously)
(find the least distance of their meeting)
In all above question they are asking to calculate LCM
