Answer:
“Light is good from whatever lamp it shines, knowledge is good from whatever
source it originates.”
To emphasize the significance of celebrating festivals, a special assembly on Dussehra,
the festival that resonates with the victory of good over evil was presented by the
energetic students of Ravi House on 5th October 2016.
The assembly commenced with the Junior School Choir presenting a soulful song
‘Gathaon Ka Rela’. This song, which is an original composition, had brought laurels to
school by winning ‘The song of the year award’ at ‘Anveshan’. ‘Anveshan’ is an event
and a forum which recognises and acknowledges young and talented writers of today
and is organized by ‘Itihaas’ (Indian Tradition and Heritage Society), whose aim is to
connect the Indian children to their heritage. This was followed by a sonorous choir
and a short skit depicting the varied ways in which Dussehra is celebrated across India,
signifying the victory of good over evil. A graceful dance invoking the blessings of
Goddess Durga, marked the culmination of the assembly.
Aviral Shrivastava, the head boy of the school addressed the students and told them
that Super Heroes are not only found in mythological stories, and that each one of us is
a super hero in his or her own way. He emphasized that if we are able to overcome the
evil within us, then we can help make our society a better place to live in.
Principal Ms. Aditi Misra appreciated the efforts of the ‘Anveshan’ team and gave
away the trophy and the certificates to the students. The assembly came to an end with
the Junior School Headmistress Ms. Laveena Hemrajani addressing the children and
reiterating the importance of festivals and celebration in our lives.
