QUADRATIC EQUATION: a equation which has highest power 2 then it is called as quadratic equation

example - 3x²+x

the above one is quadratic equation

example for not a quadratic equation

3x³-x²+x

this is not a quadratic equation because highest power is 3 that is called cubic equation

LINEAR EQUATION - equation which has highest power one is called linear equation

EXAMPLE: 2x-3y+1

not a linear equation example:x²-3y+1

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

if the highest power of the variable of the equation is 2 then it is a quadratic equation

eg=x^2-2x+4

here you can see that the variable x has the highest power 2 so it is a quadratic equation

if the highest power of the variable is 1 then it is a linear equation

eg=x-4

here you can see that the variable x has the highest power 1 so it is a linear equation
