how we can say that a Louis XVI was a despotic ruler


Fãbina: When Louis XVI succeeded to the throne in 1774, he was 19 years old. He had an enormous responsibility, as the government was deeply in debt, and resentment to 'despotic' monarchy was on the rise. Louis also felt woefully unqualified for the job.As king, Louis focused primarily on religious uniformity and foreign policy. Hence he was a Despotic ruler of france.

we can say that a louis XVI was a despotic ruler by the following ways

He divided France into three dividions
Clergy
Nobility
third estates
Only third estate people have to pay taxes which is comprised of peasents ,merchants ,small businessman etc
Nobility and Clergy people enjoyed prevailages by birth given by the government
