how we differentiate force and momentum

Force is the pull or push to any body
F= ma
While momentum is the product of mass and velocity
P = mv

force is an external cause which changes or tends to change the state of rest or motion of a body and it's shape size and direction of motion
momentum is the product of mass and velocity
force can be measured by spring balance
there is no such instrument to measure momentum
