In Basic :- By using Red litmus paper.. By dipping. The colour of red litmus paper turns to blue. It indicates that the substance is basic in Nature.

In Acids :- By using Blue litmus paper. By dipping.

The colour of Blue litmus paper turns to red. It indicates that the substance is acidic in Nature.

In Neutral :- No change in colour..
