The international one-day game is a late twentieth-century development. The first ODI was played on 5 January 1971 between Australia and England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground During the invention of cricket, there were only 5 days test match and most of them thought that it was too long and kept it as 50 overs match and named it as ODI.
