Participants of the Civil Disobedience Movement had different reasons for participating in the movement -
* Rich peasant communities were greatly suffering due to the trade depression and falling prices set by the East India Company. This reduced their income levels, so they could not pay revenue taxes to the government.
* Business classes revolted against colonial policies that restricted their business activities. They gave financial assistance to the movement.
* Women also participated in the CDM, as they viewed service to the nation as a sacred duty.
Hope it helps!!
