It's going to be long. Very long.
Let's start before the beginning of time. If you don't want to go through all the history just look at the images to get an idea how India transformed into what it is today.
600 BC.

The Indo-Parthian and Indo-Synthian era
Parthia is a historical region located in north-eastern Iran. Scythians were a large group of Iranian. You must have heard about Cheras,Pandyas in the South.

The Kushan Empire
Kanishka expanded the kingdom till as far as Varanasi and captured areas in present-day China.

400-500AD

The Gupta Empire
This was the period of the domination of the Gupta Empire, referred to by some as the Golden Age of India.

After the collapse of the Gupta Empire, many small rulers ruled till 900 AD.

The Gurjar-Pratihara dynasty, in 900 AD, spread its kingdom from Rajasthan to the east in India. Meanwhile, the Deccan was under the Rashtrakuta dynasty.

1206–1526
The Ghaznavid Empire gradually moved in and conquered India and later the Delhi Sultanate, a Delhi-based Muslim kingdom that stretched over large parts of India from 1206–1526, the fall of which eventually led to the Mughal rule in the country. Delhi Sultanate included Slave Dynasty, Khiljis, Tughlaqs e.t.c.
Now you will see some of our current states taking form.
By 1500 AD, the Rajput states had established their presence.

hope it helps...!!!!!❤
