the debates took place in ibadat Khana,a hall of prayer at fatehpur sikri. he invited selected mystics, intellectuals and theologians and held religious debates on religious and spiritual themes. he invited scholars belonging to different religions.they visited ibadat Khana regularly and discussed their beliefs with akbar. the result of these discussions at the hall of prayer led him to the conclusion that all the religions lead to the same goal.he respected all the religions and formed matrimonial alliances with Hindus, especially the rajputs which were his new ideas on governance.

Hii dear here is your answer.
Akbar's interaction with the people of different people made him realise that religious scholars who emphasised ritual and dogma were often bigots. The teaching of different religious scholars created division and disharmony amongst his subjects. This led to the idea of sulh-i-kul or "universal peace" which means tolerance and not to discriminate between people of different religions in his realm. They framed a vision of different religions in his realms. They framed a vision of governance around the idea of sulh-i-kul forced on a system of ethics honesty, justice, peace which was universally applicable.
