How were too trojans protected during wartime

the trojans as you know lived in troy which was very far from greece. when the greek fleet came to assault the city,they were already so travel worn that they were killed in large numbers after they set foot in troy. also,troy had very strong and high walls,which legends say were built by apollo,the sun god. the greeks could not breach these walls and fell prey to trojan archers. the trojan army was itself very strong,though lesser in number.

The Trojans had built a strong wall around the city so that no enemy should attack them from the sea. There were huge gates in the wall. In times of war like a strong fortress, quite from all attack. It was thus protected by the walls around it as well as by the hills behind.
