First, start listening to English music and watch movies in English and try to speak English in front of mirror, this will increase ur confidence also read books, blogs, newspapers to improve ur vocabulary
And for me the most effective way was to speak in English with my teachers and friends, trust me it help u to gain some confidence and keep practicing cause the best way to learn a language is not cram them like we do in schools, just listen and practice.
