How will u show that a gas doesn't have a fixed volume?

This can be proved easily.
Take a syringe and pull the piston out such that air is trapped inside and you block the other side trapping air.
Now try to push the piston and to an extent you can compress it.
The same volume of air which occupied lots of space, now has only occupied a small space.
