if ABCD is a rectangle such that AB =CD and BC=AD and AC & BD as diagonals

then,

(AB)square + (AD) square = (AC) square

as per question

let AB=CD=8cm

BC=AD=6cm

then  

by pythagoras theorem

(8) sqsuare + (6) square = (AC) square

64 + 36 = (AC) square

100 = (AC) square

10 = (AC)

therfore

lenght of diagonal AC is 10 cm
