The purpose of the study is to convert but-2-one to cis but-2-men and trans but -2-one.
And also to understand the tropospheric oxidation of ethyne, acetylene, C2H2, and but-2-one, which occurs in the presence of HO and O2.
For both the molecules, the initial addition of HO radical to the triple bond is trailed by mixing of O2 to form peroxyl radicals.
In both the reactions, the peroxyl radicals take two isomeric structures, namely E1 and E2 for ethyne and e1 and e2 for but-2-yen respectively.
Also, the ethyne system can be obtained by simulating data generated in the laboratory for N2 buffer gas, where O2 was absent.
In simulations of C2H2 + HO, O2 found to be is present.
