use Hoffman bromamide rexn for conversion
which remove c=O group and join NH2
reagent = Br2+ NaOH
product =
CH3CH2NH2+ NaBr+Na2CO3+H2

Welcome Nikhil,

● Answer -
Propionamide can be converted to ethanamine with Hoffman bromamide reaction.

● Reaction -
In Hoffman bromamide reaction, an amide is treated with Br2/KOH to get a primary amine with 1 C-atom less.
RCONH2 + Br2 + 4NaOH → R-NH2 + Na2CO3 + 2NaBr + 2H2O

When propionamide is treated with Br2/KOH, ethyl amine is formed.
CH3-CH2-CO-NH2 + Br2 + 4NaOH → CH3-CH2-NH2 + Na2CO3 + 2NaBr + 2H2O

Hope this solved your query..
