You put a known amount of acid into a beaker and add a pH indicator like phenolphthalein. Then, you fill a buret with the dilute sodium hydroxide (and RECORD how much was in there before). You add the sodium hydroxide Slowly until the color of the indicator changes, and then STOP. ... to find the molarity, and thus the pH.
