Answer:

A Violet color solution confirms the presence of proteins. Note: Biuret reagent solution can be prepared from copper sulfate, sodium/potassium hydroxide, and sodium tartrate. The above mentioned tests can be used for the different food materials and ease of the process.

You determine whether the given food items contain protein or not

1)Grab a little sample of the food that will be examined.

2) Pulverize or mash the meal.

Put the food item into a test tube in step three.

4) Shake the test tube after adding 10 drops of water.

5) Using a dropper, add two drops of copper sulphate solution to the test tube.

6) Using a dropper, add 10 drops of the caustic soda solution, then shake the test tube.

7) Wait a few minutes while the test tube is resting in a test tube stand.

8) Check out the mixture's colour.

9) The colour violet indicates that the food item under test contains proteins.

  • Plant-based foods (fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, and seeds) frequently lack one or more essential amino acids, but animal-based foods (meat, chicken, fish, eggs, and dairy products) are frequently good sources of complete protein.
  • As you can see, rice doesn't contain a lot of protein. Only 3.5 g, or the equivalent of 0.5 oz, of chicken breast, are present in it. I usually advise at least 7 g of protein per serving size for rice to be regarded as a high protein food.
