Creativity is a valuable skill, and there are common strategies teachers can use to help students develop it.

Explanation:

  • Teachers should create and prepare curricula and offer tools to provide students with choices, voices & choices in order to allow them to be innovative. Set up learning activities that allow students to explore their creativity in relevant, interesting, and worthwhile ways
  • Remove limits on creativity and provide the students with a creative environment and framework. Teach students other qualities that they need to be innovative. Provide ways to discuss desires of individuals. Enhance behaviours that build creativity.
  • Help students connect. Provide challenges that enable metaphorical thought that convey or solve complex problems. Through using metaphors, new knowledge & insights are gained. The capacity to synthesise knowledge creatively has grown for students who learn to combine unrelated thoughts , ideas and concepts
  • Practice thought divergent. Choose from a reading task a sentence or a short paragraph that have "different meanings" for individuals. Ask students to think of the very different ways people from varying backgrounds, ages or life experiences can perceive these words. The aim of diverging ideas is to produce as many ideas on a subject as possible by exploring a host of alternatives.
  • Encourage learners to work in groups. While imagination is linked with personal talent, we derive inspiration from the ideas of other people and our social climate. Many of us that have common ambitions, but also different ways of thought or looking at the world, have amazing innovations and artistic accomplishments. When students combine their mutual skills for a problem, creative processes work.
  • Ask questions "What if?" to encourage children to think about creative options in as many ways as possible. It includes switching from more conventional ways to ask, "Why is this and what is it?" to ask, "What can I do about this?
