How will you justify the presence of 18 elements in the 5th period of the periodic table?

period number(n)= 5

orbitals being filled= 5s,4d,5p

total number of electrons that can be accommodated in the orbitals:

5s=2è

4d=10è

5p=6è

total=18 electrons (è)

hence 18 electrons can fit in the 5th period of the periodic table!!
