Burn a candle Collect the gas produced and pass it to a test tube containing lime water. If it turns milky the gas evolved is CO2

Combustion of candle produces carbon dioxide and water vapor

Explanation:

Candle is a wax (Paraffin) which causes chemical reaction in presence of air (oxygen) and produce carbon dioxide and water vapor is produced in small quantity.

Experiment-

A candle is took and covered it with pitcher so that an air tight room is created. After some times, the candle dims and vanished but before the candle burning, the water level rises to almost 1/10 of the pitcher height. This experiment proves that combustion produces carbon monoxide and water.
