How will you prove that air supports burning

suppose a bruning candle is on the table if we put a glass on it , it stops burning

The substance which burn in the presence of air or oxygen to produce heat and light are called combustion substance.
For ex-paper,wood,coal,CNG,LPG,Kerosene.
