metals are good conductor of electricity due to the presence of loose electrons in the outermosr shell of the elemwnt and ease their movement in a solid.
if you take an iron rod and put its one side on fire and hold it from other side you will feel that the side in your hand is being warm after few seconds .this is due to the motion of electrons from the side which is on fire to the other which is in your hand carring heat with them .
and you know that the frying pans in our home have a plastic or a wood handle which are non.metals. so are not the conductof heat and electricity .
