We can show it through an experiment .
Apparatus:- A candle, 3 rectangular cardboard sheet of same dimensions.
☆Do a hole in the middle of them and place a candle in front of hole of one sheet.
☆Take a look through the another end of third sheet.
☆you will notice that light is visible through the hole
This conclude that light travels in straight line that is called rectilinear propagation of light
